This page has nothing to do with our business, but reflects the fascination and appreciation that we have for the Chesapeake Bay and The Town of Chesapeake Beach.

We used to run our business from an historic building, for which we received an Historic Preservation Award from the County Commissioners of Calvert County, Maryland in May, 1997. Click here to see it! The building was built in 1903, only three years after the town was founded and the amusement park opened here. It was the town's original post office and general store. On September 6, 1996, Hurricane Fran made an unwelcome visit to Chesapeake and North Beaches, Maryland.

But Fran was nothing compared to the destruction wrought by Hurricane Isabel, September 18 and 19, 2003. There are over 300 photos showing preparation, the winds, the serious and devastating tidal surge, the destruction of homes in North Beach, and the visit of Senator Barbara Mikulski with her specific assistance from FEMA.

Our home burned on May 8, 2005. Here is a photo gallery of the destruction.

Here is aerial view of our town from the east! Here is a view from the south.
